The school was founded in 198 1, located in Taiping Temple Campus of Sichuan Sports Vocational College. Mainly cultivate sports talents with technical secondary school education, be responsible for athletes and reserve talents of provincial sports teams, coaches of amateur sports schools in prefectures, cities and counties, physical education teachers in primary and secondary schools and sports backbones in enterprises and institutions. Sichuan Sports School guarantees athletes' cultural education and promotes the development of sports.
2. School performance
Sichuan Sports School is a public institution directly under the Provincial Sports Bureau. In the history of more than 30 years, the school has cultivated national famous Olympic champions and world champions such as Tang Lin, Zou Kai, Ren Xi, Jiang Wenwen and Jiang Tingting, which is a well-deserved "cradle of champions".
The school has 9 national coaches, 58 senior coaches and 72 first-class coaches.
3. Construction of new campus
The new campus construction project of Sichuan Sports School is located in Shang Yong Town, Xinjin District, with a planned land area of 99.69 mu, a total construction area of about 68,998 square meters, a school scale of 3,000 students and an estimated total investment of 478 million yuan. It is expected to be completed in August 2024.
The school has established the concept of "big sports school" and built an amphibious sports school, which ranks first in the west in winter and summer and first in the country. The main construction contents include comprehensive teaching building, dormitory building, comprehensive training hall and swimming pool.
