Profitability of online education
According to the report data compiled by Internet Education Research Institute, the online education market in China was about 28.37 billion yuan in 20 14, with an average increase of 17.8% compared with 20 13. In 20 15, the market scale was further improved, reaching 39.9 billion yuan. The huge market scale has spawned a large number of emerging enterprises. According to the report, by the end of 20 15, there were about 9,500 enterprises in the field of internet education in China, including about 2,200-2,400 enterprises in the field of K 12, with nearly 300,000 related employees.

However, the swarming projects have also brought high-pressure competition, and the profit model has become a stumbling block to the survival of many enterprises. For most online education enterprises, the profit problem is like a sore throat. Many start-ups said they didn't consider profit at first, and some listed companies made it clear that they didn't rely on profit when expanding online education business.

According to reports, the Internet Education Research Institute conducted a survey of 400 online education companies, showing that 70.58% of the companies were in a loss state, 13.24% was in a flat state, and only 16. 18% remained profitable. At the same time, the report further pointed out that due to more new projects and the death of some projects, the overall profit of online education enterprises is not expected to exceed 5%, while the balance of payments is about 10%, the mortality rate is about 15%, and the loss rate is about 70%.

The report also pointed out that the average revenue of internet education enterprises in 20 15 years was 27 million yuan, but the standard deviation between projects was large and the polarization characteristics were obvious.
