In order to promote the internationalization of education, Zhengzhou University began to set up a preparatory group for the Institute of International Education in early 2004. After more than a year of preparation, it was formally established with the approval of the school. The Institute of International Education consists of six departments: Admissions Office, Teaching Management Department, Student Management Department, Cooperative Education Department, College Office and Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language Center.

The main duties and tasks of the Institute of International Education are to be responsible for the enrollment of international students, overseas Chinese and students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, the handling of foreign-related procedures, registration, student status management, teaching management and daily life management. Responsible for the examination and approval and management of foreign cooperation in running schools and foreign cooperation in running schools, enrollment and management of foreign cooperation training programs and other work related to international education.

The mission of the Institute of International Education is to attract a large number of overseas students to study in Zheng Da (to let the world know about Zheng Da); Vigorously carry out cooperative education and cultivate a group of high-quality international compound talents (to help Zheng Da go global); By training international students, cooperating with foreign institutions of higher learning, and introducing high-quality educational resources for our use, Zhengzhou University's international status and influence will be continuously improved.
