Why is Suhomlinski a world-class educator? There are countless excellent and research records about him, which can be said to be unanimously recognized, and there are countless experiences that can be used for reference and spread around the world.
Here, I briefly mention a few points that make me feel deeply.
1. He was the first person to introduce "humanity" into Soviet education.
It doesn't seem surprising to mention "humanity education" from the current educational view, but in the Soviet Union, China and even the whole Oriental Group forty or fifty years ago, "humanity", "humanity" and "human feelings" were all very taboo and sensitive words. Both the late teacher Si Xia and the living teacher Wu Zhengxian were criticized for emphasizing human nature in education.
Introducing "humanity" into Soviet education is Sukhomlinski's most outstanding contribution to Soviet education and even the whole socialist education.
He advocates that education should respect human nature, conform to human nature and be full of human feelings!
At present, from top to bottom, we do not reject this idea and actively advocate and promote it, but many teachers have not reflected it well in the specific education and teaching implementation. For example, we know that education should have human feelings, but many of our teachers are under various pressures and lack human feelings. Corporal punishment and corporal punishment in disguised form, teaching and educating people is not good, simple and rude. ...
2. Suhomlinski is always an intellectual who insists on seeking truth from facts and dares to think independently.
He insists on starting from reality instead of books, full of distinctive originality and bold innovative spirit, and often does not keep pace with the instructions of his superiors.
Speaking of "disharmony" may dampen the wishes of some "malicious" managers and educators. Suhomlinski's disharmony is positive and can be said to be just, rather than "confrontation" in a peaceful and just environment.
What is more commendable is that China advocates "seeking truth from facts". Suhomlinski insisted on this most in his life-long education.
Seeking truth from facts, we should not only look for objective reasons when we encounter problems, but also change from what we can change. Seeking truth from facts means adapting to local conditions and varying from person to person.
Disrespect for realistic conditions, students' previous cognition, individual differences, and not focusing on teaching … all these are against the laws of education and are ineffective education.
He said: Every child is a complete world, without repetition, and has its own characteristics.
All his educational research, exploration and practice are for people's mind and for their all-round and harmonious development.
In a short sentence, less than 40 words, Suhomlinski summed it up so brilliantly that it can be said that he rushed to the educational goal of "all-round development".
Only when we teachers fully understand students, study students and care about them can we walk into students' hearts, build a harmonious relationship between teachers and students and cultivate people with all-round development.
I love my teacher, and I love the truth more.
It is not easy for a person to meet a teacher who is good at guiding and educating, and it is not necessarily when a person will meet an important person in life.
Love teachers, respect the truth in life and work, and abide by relevant disciplinary systems.
I can improve myself better, and we "have to" do it professionally: there are teachers in the distance, mentors around, and idols in our hearts. Respect them and follow the truth.
5. Suhomlinski proposed that students should always be the main body in the process of education. It advocates the study of educational objects, attaches importance to people's own concern and research, and runs emotional education through the whole teaching process, calling for attention to the relationship between children and nature and surrounding environment.
Only by taking students as learners' center and changing "teaching" into learning can students really learn. This can't be just a formality.
The most terrible thing about education is that it is a mere formality and unreal. The result is misleading children.
What is commendable is that Suhomlinski's educational thought not only influenced China, but also many countries, such as the United States, Japan, Canada, Britain and Greece, established Suhomlinski Research Institute or Suhomlinski Experimental Middle School.
Everything proves that Suhomlinski is a world-class educator.
