The building of Shanghai Science and Technology Museum consists of a basement, four underground floors and a comprehensive office building. The whole building is in a spiral shape, which shows the continuous progress of science and technology. In the middle of the building is an iconic giant glass ball embedded in a pool of clear water, symbolizing the birth of life.
Basement 1: This floor is mainly equipped with two IMAX science cinemas (IMAX three-dimensional giant screen cinema and ball screen cinema), Zhangjiang Innovation Achievements and fast food restaurants. The basement is the public area with the most concentrated service facilities, including ticket hall, food world, leisure corridor, exhibition hall and so on.
