History of Jiujiang Museum
Jiujiang Museum was established in August, 1978, under the jurisdiction of Jiujiang Cultural Bureau.

Before the establishment of Jiujiang Museum, the Municipal Bureau of Culture and Education had cultural relics professionals in charge of cultural relics management, and also collected some scattered cultural relics. 1958 and 1966, the Municipal Bureau of Culture and Education held two exhibitions of Jiujiang historical relics in Yanshuige. 1965, all the cultural relics displayed in Yanshuige and the exhibition hall belonging to the cultural department were handed over to the municipal garden department. 1966 in the early days of the "cultural revolution", the Yanshuiting cultural relics showroom was closed, and the surviving cultural relics were neglected and lost. 1972, the Cultural Relics Group was established in the Municipal Cultural Center (then called the Workers, Peasants and Soldiers Literature and Art Station), and the Yanshui Pavilion and the Cultural Group of the Revolutionary Committee held another exhibition of Jiujiang historical relics in Yanshui Pavilion. In order to meet the needs of opening to the outside world and the development of tourism, the Jiujiang Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China decided to set up the Jiujiang Museum, and decided that the office of the city museum should be located in Nengren Temple, an ancient temple in the Six Dynasties. The cultural relics showroom is located in Yanshui Pavilion. 1986, the office of the Municipal Museum was moved to Xunyang Road East Road, and the cultural relics showroom was still located in Yanshuige.
