No.2 Middle School in Peng 'an County, Sichuan Province is located at No.48/KLOC-0, Silk Street, Xiangru Town, Peng 'an County. Its predecessor was Sichuan Peng 'an Normal School, which was approved by Nanchong Education Bureau in 2003 and transformed into an ordinary high school. Nanchong City Education Bureau organized an evaluation team in June 2009 according to the Detailed Rules for Evaluation of Nanchong Model High Schools.
The "Nanchong Demonstration Ordinary High School" declared by Peng 'an No.2 Middle School passed the evaluation and acceptance. Through the evaluation, the evaluation team believes that the school has basically reached the standards and requirements of the Detailed Rules for the Evaluation of Model Senior High Schools in Nanchong City in terms of team building, school management, school efficiency and school conditions. After research, it was decided to name Peng 'an No.2 Middle School as "Nanchong Model Ordinary High School".
The school covers an area of more than 30,000 square meters, with a building area of16,999 square meters. Since the transformation in 2003, the school has built a beautiful teaching complex, a girl's apartment, a clean canteen for teachers and students, first-class teaching equipment, and a high-standard laboratory, an electric classroom and a microcomputer room.

Learning Strategies and Health Education, a national key research project declared by the school, has achieved fruitful results in composition innovation and writing. Yu Jianzhong, the experimental teacher, was rated as one of the top ten teachers in the experimental school, and 10 experimental teachers won the first, second and third prizes for thesis, teaching case and guiding students' composition respectively.
