The School of Continuing Education of Wuhan University of Science and Technology is located in Hongshan Campus of Wuhan University of Science and Technology, No.0/99, Hongshan District, Wuhan. Wuhan University of Science and Technology is a local high-level university jointly established by the province and the Ministry. The national "Basic Capacity Building Project for Colleges and Universities in the Midwest" was selected as a university, and Hubei Province was a "double-class" key construction university.

The history of the school can be traced back to Zhang Zhidong, Governor of Huguang in the late Qing Dynasty, from 65438 to 0898. After the inheritance and development of Hubei Secondary Industrial School, Hubei Class A Industrial School, Hanyang Advanced Industrial Vocational School, Wuchang Advanced Industrial School, Zhongnan Iron and Steel Industrial School and Wuchang Iron and Steel Industrial School, Wuhan Iron and Steel Institute was established in 65438 to offer undergraduate education.

65438-0995 Wuhan Institute of Iron and Steel, Wuhan Institute of Architecture and Wuhan Metallurgical Medical College under the former Ministry of Metallurgy merged to form Wuhan University of Metallurgical Technology. 65438-0998 According to the needs of the reform of the national higher education management system, the school became the first batch of transferred institutions to implement "the joint construction of the central and local governments, with the management of the people's government of Hubei Province as the mainstay". 1999 was renamed Wuhan University of Science and Technology.
