For children in China, a bad report card will put them under pressure from all sides. But in the United States, every student's year-end report card is personal, and parents will not put too much pressure on their children. Scores are far less than their abilities in the eyes of adults. The goal of most students in China is "that high score".
3. There are differences in knowledge between the two countries:
Education in China pays attention to instilling knowledge, cultivating students' respect for knowledge and authority, inheriting knowledge and building a knowledge system.
The United States pays more attention to cultivating students' practical ability to use knowledge, questioning knowledge and authority, criticizing spirit and expanding and creating knowledge.
These two kinds of education express different attitudes towards knowledge, that is, the static difference between China's education and the dynamic difference between the United States, which reflects the difference of knowledge views between the two countries.
4. These two countries provide different environments for students:

5. The curriculum of the two countries is different.
For example, foreign language learning. In China, students have only one kind of English in basic education (except majors). This is a unified choice made by the education system for all students.
In the United States, students choose much more moral education courses, including Spanish, development, Latin and so on. There are also classes in America that don't use textbooks. They are often called "family life" courses.
6. The educational model is different from the college entrance examination system: the heuristic education in China has a drawback, that is, until the answer to a question, it induces students to find the "only answer".
The teaching methods in American schools not only guide students to understand and master the consistent correct answers of teachers, but also give students free imagination to explore the potential answers that both teachers and students don't know but exist objectively.
In China, except for a few people who don't have to look at the scores of the College Entrance Examination, the scores of the College Entrance Examination are the most important and the only admission criteria. However, in the United States, students take various exams at least once a year and fail once. It is understandable to fail twice ... so these exam results can be used as very important admission criteria.
7. The study burden is different: America takes a vacation almost once a week. But in China, weekends may be ruthlessly occupied, and even colorful holidays will be eclipsed by heavy homework.
8. Family education is different:
1) American education hours are strictly controlled, and American parents will set many rules. The older the child, the looser it is; China's parents, on the other hand, indulged in various ways when they were young, restricted them everywhere when they grew up, and even interfered with college majors and love.
2) American education pays attention to the cultivation of children's sense of responsibility, which makes American children more independent than China children.
It is pointed out that the reform of examination system, teaching reform and students' burden reduction in China are three aspects of the overall reform of education, and the examination system is the key to "affect the whole body with one hair". Only by changing the exam-oriented education can quality education gain its own space.
On the premise that innovation is more than foundation, the United States relies on foundation to make up for its shortcomings. In China, on the contrary, our foundation is more than innovation, so the improvement of education in China must focus on innovation to make up for the deficiency.
Education is a cultural phenomenon, and different education reflects different cultural connotations. American educational methods or systems that are suitable for today's society may not be suitable for today's society in China. In short, what we need is a modern education that combines localization and internationalization.
