The education bureau stipulates that you can't take exams for the first week of school.
Examinations are allowed at the beginning of school, and some schools also have entrance examinations.

The beginning of the semester is more commonly used in daily life. In modern Chinese, starting school usually means that students go back to school to continue their studies after holidays. According to different countries and education systems, there will be 2-4 school days every year, and the ceremony will generally be held on the school day representing the beginning of the new school year.

School-starting syndrome:

When school starts after the holiday, primary and secondary school students show obvious non-organic pathological manifestations that are not suitable for the study and life of the new semester. Psychologists call it "school-starting syndrome" and "school-starting phobia"

"School-starting syndrome" has many manifestations, mostly in physiology: insomnia, lethargy and some unexplained dizziness, nausea, abdominal pain, urinary incontinence, fatigue, loss of appetite and so on. Psychological manifestations are: memory loss, decreased understanding, weariness of learning, anxiety, absent-mindedness in class, emotional instability and so on.

Psychologists believe that these manifestations are the psychological defense mechanism of people's subconscious mind, which transforms some negative emotions that are unwilling to face, disagree, be suppressed and unhappy into some physical symptoms, and the symptoms get better after a period of time.

Legal basis: According to Article 22 of the Compulsory Education Law of People's Republic of China (PRC), the people's governments at or above the county level and their education administrative departments shall promote the balanced development of schools, narrow the gap in school-running conditions, and may not divide schools into key schools and non-key schools. Schools may not set up key classes and non-key classes.
