Zhong Jinghui was born in Bangkok, Thailand on March 28th, 1937. He graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Theatre Academy of Yale University.

China is a senior Hong Kong stage actor, director, drama educator, producer and host. At present, he is the president of Hong Kong Theatre Association, a member of LCSD Performing Arts Group, the chairman of Hocken Square Theatre Company, the drama art consultant of Hong Kong Arts Development Council, and the founding dean of Theatre Academy of Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.
