Why did New Oriental buy Mingshitang?
The survey shows that in 2006 and 2007, among the candidates who took part in the national college entrance examination, the proportion of previous candidates remained at around 28%, with an average of 2.85 million. Based on the annual cost per capita of 65.438 million yuan, the market size is about 28.5 billion yuan. In particular, after the Ministry of Education issued a notice prohibiting the resumption of classes in public ordinary high schools across the country, it provided a stable and huge market for non-education and training institutions. New Oriental successfully entered this field through the acquisition of Mingshitang.

According to Yu's plan, Mingshitang will become a subsidiary of New Oriental, leaving the brand of Mingshitang and retaining the original mode in personnel and business management. New Oriental has plans to enter the field of college entrance examination re-reading training on a large scale, adopt more forms of mergers and acquisitions in other parts of the country, or promote the famous teachers' hall.
