Jingjiang City, referred to as "Jing" for short, is located in East China, south-central Jiangsu Province, on the north bank of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, near Jingjiang River, facing the river in the east, west and south, facing Jiangyin and Zhangjiagang across the river in the south, Rugao in the east and Taixing in the northwest. It is a new port industrial city in Jiangsu province, with 54 kilometers of high-quality Yangtze River coastline and convenient land and water transportation.
Jingjiang is called "Jingjiang" because its geographical location is "the gateway to rivers and seas". "Quiet" means stability and peace; "Jiang" is because it is close to the Yangtze River, which means Jingjiang is a riverside city. Jingjiang was listed as an open area by the State Council, and joined the Suzhou-Wuxi-Changzhou Torch Belt, becoming an important "bridgehead" for Shanghai Pudong Development Zone and Suzhou-Wuxi-Changzhou Torch Belt to radiate to northern Jiangsu. Jingjiang is a first-class strong city in the north of Jiangsu, leading the counties and cities in northern Jiangsu. Jingjiang is a rare city in Jiangbei that speaks Wu dialect. Jingjiang dialect belongs to Wu dialect-Taihu film-lamination. Jingjiang culture belongs to Wu culture. Jingjiang specialties include bacon and soup packets. On March 20 15, Jingjiang was selected as a national health city.
Jingjiang, formerly known as Matosha, also known as Jijiang, Zhu Ji, Massachusetts and Mucheng, landed before the first year of Wu Chiwu in the Three Kingdoms (AD 238). Before landing, only an isolated mountain stood in the river. Later, due to the tide against the river, sediment accumulated along the foot of the isolated mountain and became land. In the second year of Chiwu (AD 239), the army of Sun Quan, the monarch of the Three Kingdoms, herded horses here, hence the name Dasha and Xiao Sha (later called Matuosha). Jingjiang is located in the northern Jiangsu plain of the lower Yangtze River, and structurally belongs to the second-level structural unit Jiangyin and Changshu dome fault fold bundle and the fourth-level structural unit in the fold belt of the lower Yangtze Platform. There is an independent hill in the territory-Gushan, and the rest are alluvial plains in the Yangtze River Delta. Flat terrain, bounded by Henggang, low in the south and high in the north, mostly in the Yellow Sea, with an altitude of 2.5 ~ 4.5 meters. Jingjiang is located in subtropical humid climate zone. Due to the influence of monsoon circulation, it has obvious maritime, monsoon and transitional climate characteristics. Summer is hot and rainy, winter is cold and rainy, and spring and autumn are changeable.
