1907 (Guangxu 33), Mr. Gao Lingxiao, a scholar, member of senior advisory committee and cabinet secretary in the late Qing Dynasty, changed "Bishan County Government No.1 Higher Primary School" into "Bishan County Government Preparatory Middle School", which was located in the rear of Bicheng, and was the beginning of Bishan Middle School. During the Anti-Japanese War, Suzhou University's predecessor, the National Institute of Social Education, now runs a school in Lindong Junior Middle School.
