The school started at the Red Mansion in Beijing Beach and moved to Xueyuan Road on 1954. 1985, the school opened Changping Campus. After entering the graduate school, it was renamed the Central School of Political Science and Law Management as a separate school. In 2000, it was merged into China University of Political Science and Law.
The school has 654,300 law schools, including Law School, Civil and Commercial Economics Law School, International Law School, Criminal Justice College, School of Politics and Public Administration, Business School, Humanities College, School of Foreign Languages, School of Marxism, School of Social Sciences, Guangming School of Journalism and Communication, China-Europe Law School, Master of Laws College, International Confucianism College, International Education College/Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Education Center, Continuing Education College/Online Education College, Science and Technology Teaching Department/Legal Information College.

1. The school has 24 undergraduate majors, including law, investigation, political science and administration, administration, international politics, public utilities management, business administration, economics, international business, financial engineering, English, German, translation, journalism, network and new media, mathematics and applied mathematics, and information management and information system (rule of law information management).

The school has established cooperation and exchange relations with 258 well-known universities, scientific research institutions and international organizations in 53 countries and regions, among which 60% of the world's top 500 universities have substantial cooperation. Every year, through various cooperation and exchange programs, more than 1,000 teachers and students are sent abroad to exchange and study, and hundreds of long-term and short-term foreign experts are hired to give lectures at our school.
