Looking at the whole primary school stage, the current situation of primary school students' extracurricular reading is not optimistic, which is mainly manifested in the following aspects: lack of reading interest, little reading, and even reading is only to complete the reading tasks stipulated by parents and teachers, only to complete, not to ensure quality, and reading is in a passive state; Improper reading methods, cursory reading, no thinking, no accumulation. ...
Extracurricular reading is one of the main contents of Chinese extracurricular activities, and it is also the supplement and extension of in-class reading. It is necessary to promote classroom teaching and extracurricular reading, and improve students' reading ability and Chinese literacy. This requires our Chinese teachers to have the teaching concept of "big Chinese", cultivate students' interest in reading, teach students reading methods, and expand students' knowledge through extracurricular reading, thus improving classroom teaching efficiency. Therefore, it is particularly important to strengthen the guidance of students' extracurricular reading. Below, I will talk about my views on extracurricular reading guidance based on my own teaching practice.
First, change ideas and attach importance to extracurricular reading guidance.
Extracurricular reading guidance is an indispensable part of Chinese teaching. Guiding students to read excellent extracurricular books can consolidate and deepen the effect of classroom teaching, expand students' knowledge, broaden their horizons, enrich their accumulation and improve their reading and writing ability. It can also let students talk with wise and noble people and cultivate students' good moral quality and sound personality. When talking about reading, writer Wang Meng said: Reading makes me feel happy and lets me enter a beautiful and civilized world. I obviously feel that reading is increasing my knowledge, knowledge and ability. Reading is chatting with friends, and reading is also an inquiry into your own soul. Years of teaching practice have made me realize that students who like extracurricular reading are rich in knowledge, have accumulated a lot of language materials, have strong language expression ability, and their writing level is higher than those who don't like extracurricular reading. At present, although teachers are aware of the importance of extracurricular reading, it is only a simple oral arrangement. Students buy it without reading it, or just look at the general plot, and there is not much gain. As teachers, we should take students' extracurricular reading seriously. Therefore, it is of great significance to guide students' extracurricular reading.
Second, the principles that should be followed in extracurricular reading guidance
First, guide students to read good books, cultivate students' sentiment and cultivate students' correct outlook on life and values. A good book, whether it is the people inside or the things inside, will educate students and affect their attitude towards life. Cui Luan, a famous education expert, said: Literary masterpieces are symbols of the achievements of human civilization, and reading literary masterpieces is an effective way to cultivate students' independent thinking ability and mind. Therefore, I always take advantage of the situation and introduce students to read excellent and classic literary works. After reading Childhood, the students in our class can truly appreciate the style of Russia and Gorky's tragic childhood at that time, feel his tenacity, courage and self-confidence, and also inspire how to grow up and be independent.
Second, in-class reading and extracurricular reading are organically combined and effectively integrated. Due to the limitation of space, the texts in Chinese textbooks often only write part of the story, such as the lesson of "three visits to the cottage" In this paper, only the process of Liu Bei's third visit to Longzhong to invite Zhuge Liang out of the mountain is selected, but students don't know much about Zhuge Liang's outstanding genius and ingenious calculation. This needs to be made up by reading after class. Another example is to teach "Lin Chongbang to fight floods" and let students read "Water Margin". After learning a text, combined with relevant extracurricular books, it is a supplement and expansion of the knowledge in class. Of course, such integration can not be limited to books related to textbook content. The example listed above consists of an article and a part. You can also draw a kind of works from a theme, for example, I will let the students read The Old Man and the Sea after I finish the lesson "The Old Man of the Yellow River". After learning the lesson "Tomato Sun", I introduce students to read "If you give me three days of light".
The third is to introduce extracurricular books according to the cognitive characteristics of students in different classes. Nowadays, students live in the information age, with rapid intellectual development, wide knowledge and strong thirst for knowledge. So I work hard on the recommendation of extracurricular reading materials. According to the spirit and actual situation of the superior documents, in the lower grades, I suggest that students read some pinyin fairy tales, illustrated magazines and so on. In the middle and senior grades, I recommend students to read some long children's books and popular science books, such as The Education of Love. Only when extracurricular reading materials are suitable for students' age characteristics and cognitive level can students be interested in reading. It will dampen their enthusiasm for reading.
Third, explore ways to implement extracurricular reading guidance.
1. Cultivate students' interest in extracurricular reading
Interest is the best teacher. Ba Jin said that children's successful education begins with the cultivation of good habits. Chinese curriculum standards emphasize the cultivation of students' reading habits. Students' interest and habit of reading extracurricular books need teachers to make some efforts to cultivate them. In the usual teaching, I do this: I insist on bringing an extra-curricular book into the classroom every day, and I use morning reading to squeeze out some time for students to read stories, which makes children feel interesting. In this way, the students listened attentively. But often a story can't be told in such a short time, and students still want to hear it. At this time, I will definitely ask students to buy a book for themselves to read. At this point, students already have reading expectations. I also recommended a good book to students, which really killed two birds with one stone.
2. Carry out activities to create an atmosphere
Curriculum standard advocacy: create opportunities for exhibition and communication, and create a good atmosphere for everyone to love reading. I have storytelling competitions, reading meetings and other activities in my class. In order to tell good stories and give good performances, students spend their spare time reading children's books such as Grimm's fairy tales, Andersen's fairy tales and Aesop's fables. Now every Monday, the students in our class are led by the monitor to borrow books from the school library and put them in the class library corner for unified distribution and management.
3. Combination of reading and writing, lifelong benefit
I encourage students to read a good book every month, read a story every day and write some reading notes. I carefully designed a reading card for students, with the names of the books I read, the names of the authors and book excerpts, such as the stories in Aesop's Fables, Robinson Crusoe and Arabian Nights. Have reading experience. In addition, I also ask students to create and read tabloids together. Through this combination of reading and writing, students can form a good habit of lifelong benefit.
4. Teachers and students read together and improve together.
Instruct extracurricular reading, and as a teacher, read by yourself. If our teacher's reading lags behind that of children, especially children's works, and the teacher reads less than children, you will have no way to guide children and recommend books to them. I think a Chinese teacher should first be a teacher who loves reading and take it as part of his work. As a Chinese teacher, it is very important to improve or promote our children's literary literacy. Only on the basis of improvement can children be given more guidance. In this respect, I do this: I arrange a quiet reading class every week, and I read with the students. And like children, they are all children's books. The students are holding books in their seats, and the teacher is reading with the children on the platform. The teacher's reading posture and state is a good guide for children. Unconsciously, this quiet reading class has made children gain more and more.
5. Teachers and students talk about books and gradually improve.
For students' extracurricular reading, our teacher can't let themselves go and let students read casually. How to read what students read, and what kind of gains they get after reading. Teachers should know what they are doing. However, if the requirements for students' extracurricular reading are too high, there will often be a burden. As teachers, we should always pay attention to making reading a kind of enjoyment for students. When I instruct students to read a book, I always chat with them in a relaxed atmosphere. Take childhood as an example. When guiding students to read this book, I talked to them step by step. The first step is to let students know the protagonist of this book, what this book mainly talks about, and have a general understanding of this book; The second step is to further let students know the content of the work. I ask the students to ask their own questions, and everyone will answer them, such as: How is life in Alesha? How did grandpa behave in the face of his beating? What kind of person is alessa? Through these problems discovered by students themselves, students can see Alisha's strength, courage, self-confidence and kindness. Step three, what did you learn from your work, for example, what education did you receive? The most profound sentences describing characters in the book, etc. Such guidance not only improves students' Chinese literacy, but also gives them inspirational education.
There are various methods of extracurricular reading guidance, which need teachers to explore and summarize constantly in teaching practice. As long as we take extracurricular reading guidance as a part of teaching and give careful guidance, students' extracurricular reading will certainly serve classroom teaching and students' lifelong growth.
