Network Education College of Chongqing University is a modern distance education pilot project approved by the Ministry of Education in 2000. With the goal of cultivating applied talents urgently needed by society, we have set up education majors such as civil engineering, engineering management, mechanical design and manufacturing and automation, economy and business administration, computer science and technology, accounting, electric power economy, marketing, mining engineering and public utilities management. The majors offered by the college have corresponding undergraduate majors in the school, relying on the national key disciplines of Chongqing University, such as architecture, civil engineering, business administration, mechanical engineering, mining engineering, electrical engineering, computer science and technology, etc., which are deeply welcomed by scholars and employers. Chongqing University, founded in 1929, is a national key university directly under the central government and managed by the Ministry of Education. It is a well-known comprehensive university covering science, engineering, literature, economics, management, law, art and education. It is also a key university under the national "2 1 1 Project" and "985 Project".

Chongqing University is one of the universities approved by the Ministry of Education [2000] No.8 document to carry out the pilot work of modern distance education. In April 2000, the modern distance education center was established, and in March 20001,the online education college was established and began to enroll students.
