The college has two campuses, old and new, covering an area of 549 mu. There are Chinese, politics and law, education, economics, foreign languages, art, mathematics, chemistry, biology, physics and electronic engineering, computer science and technology 1 1 departments and 2 teaching departments (rooms).
The college consists of eight research institutes: ancient books, China poetics, Huizhou printmaking art, basic mathematics, coordination chemistry, translation, educational science and teacher education. In the study of China's poetics, distance geometry, and the collation of ancient books. China has a comparative advantage; Foreign educational history and coordination chemistry research are at the leading level in the province. Journal of Anhui Education College, an academic journal sponsored and published by the College, was rated as "the core journal of humanities and social sciences in China", and Mathematics Teaching in Middle Schools was rated as the national excellent scientific and technological journal by the Propaganda Department of the CPC.
College is the main base for the training of basic education teachers and cadres in the province, and it is also the main expert unit for curriculum reform. It is a national training base for mathematics and physics in middle schools of the Ministry of Education. In the college, there are the Education Management Cadre Training Guidance Center of Anhui Provincial Department of Education, the Continuing Education Center of primary and secondary school teachers in Anhui Province, and the Teacher Qualification Guidance Center in Anhui Province.
The College is one of the universities with the qualification of "Hiring Foreign Cultural and Educational Experts (A 1)". Since 1985, it has established a long-term cooperative relationship with the American English Society and hired more than 330 foreign teachers to teach in the college. At the same time, we have established friendly and cooperative relations with universities or educational institutions in other countries and regions.
College is the sixth and seventh "civilized unit" in Anhui Province. In 2005, it was rated as "the national advanced unit of spiritual civilization construction".
In August 2003, the People's Government of Anhui Province asked the Ministry of Education to reform the college into an ordinary undergraduate college.
In March 2007, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, it was transformed into Hefei Normal College.
