The main responsibilities of the Family Education Bureau are:
Comprehensively implement the educational principles, policies and regulations of the party and the state, study and formulate specific principles and policies for ethnic education, and organize their implementation. To study and formulate the national education development plan and annual development plan, draw up the focus, scale, speed and steps of education development, and organize, guide and coordinate the implementation of the national education development plan, annual plan, education system reform and school-running system reform.
Responsible for the national basic education (including preschool education), special education, vocational and technical education, after-school education, adult education and higher education (including running schools by social forces), and coordinate, guide and supervise the education work of all districts, counties and relevant departments. Responsible for the construction of the national team of teachers and education administrative cadres, and responsible for the qualification certification of primary and secondary school principals; Participate in the formulation of relevant policies and rules and regulations on personnel management in the national education system; Guide the reform of education and personnel system, and organize the implementation of employment distribution for graduates of normal universities.
Overall management of the Ministry's education funds; To participate in the formulation of rules, regulations and measures on education fund raising, education loans, education fees and education infrastructure investment; According to the growth principle of education funds determined by the CPC Central Committee, the State Council, the province and the state, monitor the collection and use of education funds in all districts and counties (prefectures), and manage the funds and state-owned assets of national education capital construction and affiliated educational institutions according to relevant regulations; Guide the work-study program and school-run industrial work within the national education system.
