Kingdom of Thailand (Thai:? ), commonly known as Thailand (Thai:? ) is a constitutional monarchy country located in Southeast Asia. Thailand is located in the middle of Indochina Peninsula, bordering Myanmar and Andaman Sea in the west, Laos in the northeast, Cambodia in the southeast and Malaysia in the south. Thailand was formerly known as Siam, 1949. On May 1 1 day, Thais changed "Siam" to "Thailand" with their own national names, mainly taking its meaning of "freedom".
Thailand implemented a free economic policy, and its economy developed rapidly in the 1990s, becoming one of the "Four Little Dragons in Asia". However, it suffered a major setback in the "98 Economic Crisis" and then fell into recession and stagnation. It is one of the emerging industrial countries and emerging market economies in the world. Manufacturing, agriculture and tourism are the main economic sectors. Thailand is the only net exporter of grain in Asia and one of the top five exporters of agricultural products in the world. The electronic industry and other manufacturing industries have developed rapidly, and the industrial structure has changed obviously. Automobile industry is the pillar industry, the automobile manufacturing center in Southeast Asia and the largest automobile market in ASEAN. Thailand is one of the most famous tourist attractions in the world. Thailand is a Buddhist country, and most Thais believe in the four-faced Buddha. Buddhists account for more than 90% of the national population.
Education:
Implement 12 year compulsory education. Primary and secondary education is 12 years, that is, 6 years in primary school, 3 years in junior high school and 3 years in senior high school. Secondary vocational schools have a three-year system, universities generally have a four-year system and medical universities have a five-year system. Famous institutions of higher learning include: Chulalongkorn University, Hosei University, Agricultural University, Chiang Mai University, Kongjing University, Songkanakarin University, Mahidol University, Srinagarindra Willow University, Yisancang University, bangkok university and so on. In addition, there are open universities such as Ranganheng University and Sukhothai University. [ 15]
Education management:
According to the spirit of education development planning published after the revision of 1977, the general policy of Thailand's education administrative system is to develop modern education to meet the needs of modern society, educate people to cherish the principle of constitutional democracy, and abide by the Constitution, government decrees, religious traditions and the will of the Thai king.
The national educational administrative institutions are:
(1) State Education Commission, in charge of education planning, education research and education evaluation.
(2) The Ministry of Education, which is in charge of national educational development, international educational activities, cultural affairs and educational institutions of religious groups. Before 1964, the Ministry of Education only cared about normal education institutions, regardless of universities. At the beginning of 1965, primary education institutions were directly under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of the Interior and government-level education administrative departments, and the Ministry of Education no longer managed them.
(3) The Higher Education Office is responsible for the reform and development of all kinds of higher education in China. As far as the division of powers between the central and local governments is concerned, the decentralized system is implemented. The administrative department of education allocates educational funds to educational institutions and schools at all levels. Most of the education funds come from the state budget. Both public schools and private schools have government subsidies, but the government allocates more education funds to public schools.
The educational administrative districts in Thailand are generally divided into: Northern Thailand, Northeastern Thailand, Central Thailand and Southern Thailand. Due to the different levels of national economic development in different regions, the education level varies greatly among regions. The population in the central region accounts for one-fifth of the total population in China, with a relatively concentrated population, developed education and the highest enrollment rate of school-age children. It is the political, economic, cultural, educational and scientific center of Thailand. Northern Thailand is mainly mountainous, so education is backward.
