Xiamen Special Education School was founded in 1959, with a history of 64 years. Located at No.263/KLOC-0, Qianpu South Road, Siming District, Xiamen. The predecessor of the school is Xiamen School for the Deaf and the purpose of all the teaching staff is "all for disabled children".

The school has implemented compulsory education for the deaf, vocational high school education and junior high school vocational education for the mentally retarded, and has opened various vocational education majors such as cooking, oil painting, beauty salon and so on. Thanks to the efforts of the school, more than 20 graduates have successively entered Beijing Union University, Changchun University, Zhongzhou University and other universities, and students have achieved excellent results in self-employment.
