The descendants of the Eight Immortals gathered in Beijing to commemorate their old friends.
"Taiwan Province South America Branch will hold an exhibition in Taiwan Province Club. After the exchange, people unexpectedly found that their founding chairman was the Eight Immortals. It happened that I knew there were several descendants of the Eight Immortals in Beijing, so I told the two sides about it. Everyone thinks this is fate. We must meet and talk, and we are very happy. " Zheng Da, vice president of Beijing-Taiwan Union, said. This is what our reporter learned when he visited the Taiwan Guild Hall in early May.

On May 12, on the eve of the "Beijing Special Exhibition for the 60th Anniversary of the South American Games in Taiwan Province Province", some "Eight Immortals" from both sides of the Taiwan Strait and their descendants of old friends gathered in the Taiwan Hall in Beijing to reflect on history, cherish the memory of old friends, talk about their hometown hand in hand and share new stories of the art circles on both sides of the Taiwan Strait. The origin of the title of "Eight Immortals"

During the Japanese occupation period, a group of talented literati in Taiwan Province Province, dissatisfied with Japanese rule, escaped from the capture of soldiers, and at the same time sought truth from the motherland, came across the ocean to Peiping in succession, and took up teaching as their profession in universities such as Beiping Normal University. These people who have difficulties in returning home often get together for dinner, chatting, remembering their hometown and expressing their feelings on holidays. Sometimes they play the piano, sing, recite poems and draw pictures, and sometimes they care about each other silently, so as to relieve their anguish and comfort each other.

Although many people are in a foreign land, they help each other and make great efforts to govern, and have made many achievements in literature, art, education, music, sports and other fields, including many outstanding achievements. The people are: Ke Zhenghe, Hong, Jiang, Zhang Shenshen, Guo Baichuan, Zhang Qiuhai and Lin Chaoquan, which are just the number of immortals who "show their abilities". One day at a party, because Ke Zhenghe, the oldest of them, said that we people are like "eight immortals crossing the sea", and we are rich in literary talent, music and sports, so let's "show our talents". A joke left a beautiful talk of "Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea".

1945, recovered by Taiwan Province. The "Eight Immortals" rushed to tell each other and spread good news to each other. After that, some of them went back to their hometown, some stayed in the mainland, some went to Taiwan Province Province and returned to the mainland.

Recall history and tell homesickness.

The symposium kicked off with the composer Jiang's suite "In the Alpine Zone of Taiwan Province". Jiang Zhisun, a graduate student of the Central Conservatory of Music, played this wonderful piece of music with his wife and classmates. Yang Yichen said, "When the descendants of the Eight Immortals get together, we can play this piece as performers. I believe this is the best comfort for the Eight Immortals, because people want their works to be recognized by future generations. " This sentence immediately improved the atmosphere of communication.

Zhang Hebiao, the consultant of our journal and the son of our army, introduced his personality, acting style and academic expertise one by one, so that the participants could intuitively understand his voice and smile.

Guo Baichuan, one of the "Eight Immortals", is famous on both sides of the Taiwan Strait for his original Xuan paper oil painting techniques. Although her daughter Guo left Beijing with her parents when she was seven or eight years old, she was still deeply impressed by the people and events in Beijing. She recalled that 1947 her father was forced to resign because of kala-azar and frequent nasal bleeding. Perhaps because he was worried that his future was numbered, his father began to paint hard at this time, and many important paintings such as the Temple of Heaven, the Forbidden City and Beihai were completed at that time. At that time, the family's economic situation was not good, my father had no job, and the whole family moved again and again, and then lived in a house transformed from a warehouse. Thanks to the help of my father and friends, the whole family was able to live hard. Later, the doctor suggested that Guo Baichuan go to Taiwan Province Province to recuperate, because the climate there is warmer and the fruit is more abundant, which is helpful for recovery. In this case, he brought his family back to Taiwan Province.

Guo said that although he left Beijing long ago and his family didn't even have a house in Beijing, he still remembered everything about Beijing. Now I'm going to Beijing to hold an exhibition on the 60th anniversary of the South American Games in Taiwan Province Province. Returning to Beijing finally comforted my homesickness, but my father Guo Baichuan also loved Beijing very much. He had planned to stay on the turntable for six months and then come back, but he never got a chance.

Zhang Qiuhai's son Zhang Qia is 77 years old this year. The old man "opened" his childhood memories 70 years ago and recalled his contacts and interactions with other "Seven Immortals": Mr. Ke Zhenghe, the oldest of the "Eight Immortals", was an amiable old man who spoke politely and often walked around the room. He will tell his children the truth of life; At that time, Mr. Guo Bochuan and his family lived in the same hospital. He always goes out early and comes back late, trying to draw. He always hangs his own paintings one by one in the yard, asking Mr. and Mrs. Zhang Qiuhai to comment and give directions. Mr. Guo Can is described as picturesque, usually cheerful, straightforward, daring to say and do, and his painting style is quite rough. Mr. Jiang is handsome and cheerful. He is proficient in medicine and music, and often gives people massage in his spare time, which has a remarkable effect. ...

He also told a short story: when Mr. Guo Baichuan got married, he was responsible for pulling the wedding dress for the bride. What impressed him was that the bride was very demure, kept calm and never laughed. At this time, an old man in Taiwan Province Province played a flute at the bride, and everyone around him laughed, but the bride still didn't laugh. The old man kept teasing her seriously, and finally the bride couldn't help laughing, and everyone around her was very happy.

In Zhang Qia's view, the scope of "Eight Immortals" may not be limited to these eight people, but represents a large number of aspiring young people in Taiwan Province Province. They often get together with their love for the Chinese nation and yearning for their hometown in Taiwan Province Province, to relieve their depression and tell their homesickness. The Eight Immortals crossed the sea, covering a wide range. After all, there are many elites and people with lofty ideals from Taiwan Province who feel the same way.

Su Minsheng, son of Su Ziheng, an old friend of the Eight Immortals, was also invited to attend the forum. He said that although the older generation passed away, the feelings of the younger generation should continue and the friendship between villagers should be passed down from generation to generation.

"Bridging the Bridge" Art Exchange between the Two Places

This seminar coincides with the 60th anniversary special exhibition of Taiwan Province South American Games founded by Guo Bochuan, and the two paintings hanging in the center of the exhibition hall are of great significance. Guo Bochuan's "Map of the Forbidden City in Beijing" stands shoulder to shoulder with the Confucius Temple in Tainan, as if building a bridge for artistic exchange between Beijing and Tainan.

In this regard, Liu, curator of the South American Association of Taiwan Province Province, said that Tainan City is a gathering place for literati and painters in Taiwan Province Province and occupies an important position in the art world in Taiwan Province Province. Taiwan Province South American Association can hold an exhibition in Beijing on the occasion of its 60th anniversary, which can be described as an international association. It seems that Mr. Guo Baichuan "matched the bridge" and took Beijing as the first stop of the South American Association of Taiwan Province Province. Taiwan Province South American Friendship Association has promoted the spirit of Mr. Guo Baichuan on the island for 60 years. I came to Beijing this time to witness the achievements of my predecessors in Beijing, and also to listen to the stories told by the descendants of the Eight Immortals. I was deeply moved. Liu said that she hopes to spread such feelings to Tainan. In a few years, today's efforts will create a new history.

Wang Guohe, vice president of the South American Association of Taiwan Province Province, believes that the two sides of the Taiwan Strait share the same ancestry and are all descendants of China. It is of great significance to take this opportunity to strengthen cross-strait cultural exchanges and promote mutual cooperation. He hoped that compatriots on both sides of the strait would make joint efforts to make Chinese culture more prosperous, cross-strait exchanges more frequent and friendship strengthened.

According to reports, Guo Bochuan's oil paintings do not use canvas, but creatively use Xuan paper, which combines the characteristics of watercolor and oil painting. Because he combined China's calligraphy with pen in his oil painting creation, the lines in his oil painting implied the artistic conception of China's calligraphy. Oil painting takes still life, human body and architecture as the theme, pays attention to composition, and forms cadence through strong color texture changes, which resonates with the audience. The painting Confucius Temple in Tainan is a good example. This painting takes a bird's eye view, and the painter depicts the outline of Minnan-style traditional architecture through scarlet, making the picture more eye-catching.

The Forbidden City in Beijing depicts the shocking scenery overlooking the Forbidden City from Jingshan Park in Beijing. The dazzling latosolic red roof of the palace melted in the flaming red oil painting. Careful composition can be seen in translucent watercolor painting techniques, showing soft colors without losing momentum, making the palace look particularly new. In addition, the short brush strokes reveal the influence of China's calligraphy on painters, and vaguely contain the oriental spirit, which is the uniqueness of Guo Baichuan's paintings.
