In a society like America, people with different histories, cultures and languages gather together, and they attach great importance to individualism. Their education, as a part of society, also attaches great importance to this point. The teacher tried to make every student different. Students don't have to memorize a lot of information. Instead, they fight for their own answers.
There are often discussions in the classroom. Students learn to form their own ideas and opinions at an early age. Their education encourages individual thinking. The focus is on how to get the answer, not just the right answer.
In most Asian countries, people have the same language, history and culture. Perhaps for this reason, education there shows the value of society in group goals and objectives, not individualism. Children in China and Japan often work together and help each other with their homework. In the classroom, teaching methods are often very traditional. The teacher said, students listen. There is not much discussion. Instead, students repeat the rules and information they have learned in order to remember them.
In many ways, these differences come from different educational psychology. In western countries, teachers are taught to train students. They make it easier for students to learn by themselves. However, in the East, teachers often feel that their task is to impart knowledge to students, otherwise students will learn nothing.
