College Functions of College of Continuing Education and Vocational Education of Northwest University for Nationalities
The College of Continuing Education has dual functions, which not only undertakes the teaching management and student management of adult education in the whole school, but also is a school-running entity. School of Continuing Education administrators 13, 9 with bachelor degree, 2 with postgraduate degree and 2 with junior college degree. The college consists of office, teaching management department, self-study examination management department, vocational education department, cadre training center, student affairs office, youth league Committee and other institutions. Now we have a team of full-time and part-time teachers and management cadres with full-time staff as the backbone. Under the principle of sharing all kinds of teaching resources in the school as a whole, the college can not only hold academic education within the national plan, but also hold all kinds of adult education, vocational education and cadre training for the state, local governments, enterprises and institutions. The overall working idea of the college is: "establish a new concept of people-oriented, broaden the vocational training market, stabilize academic education, improve the quality of running schools, expand short-term training, and optimize resources to assist schools." There are adult higher education (full-time, evening classes, correspondence courses), higher education self-study exams (full-time, part-time) and various continuing education training courses. There are 7 undergraduate majors, 28 undergraduate majors, 44 specialist majors and 5 technical secondary schools. It has formed a multi-specification, multi-level and multi-form school-running system with undergraduate and junior college education as the main part and various training as the supplement. The college has a teaching office building dedicated to adult education, covering an area of 5,300 square meters, including stepped classrooms, computer rooms, multimedia classrooms and unit teaching areas. There are more than 5000 adult students. According to the 11th Five-Year Plan of Northwest University for Nationalities, the scale of college continuing education will reach about 5,500 students in 20 10, including full-time students 1500, amateur students 2,500 and applied self-taught students 1500.
