Modern Distance Music Pedagogy College of Central Conservatory of Music was founded in 1999, and was officially approved by the Ministry of Education as the only pilot unit of distance education in China in 2002. The School of Modern Distance Music Education of the Central Conservatory of Music is independently responsible for the enrollment, network resource construction, teaching operation, student management and service of school network education. The college implements the dean responsibility system, and the dean is Xiuzijian. It consists of administration department, academic affairs department, resources construction department and music research department. The college has established more than 20 off-campus learning centers approved by local education administrative departments throughout the country.
The educational level includes junior college, junior college and junior college. Musicology majors have set up "postgraduate courses in musicology" and "master courses in musicology" in Hong Kong. There are "postgraduate courses in music education" and "master courses in music education" in China.
At present, there are musicology, music education, art management, piano tuning and other majors. There are more than 100 courses, including more than 60 online music teaching courseware, including multimedia online courseware and video streaming courseware. Among them, there are 10 national excellent courses and 7 municipal excellent courses; Two national network quality courses. Undertaking the major open projects of the State Key Research Base of Humanities of the Ministry of Education, namely "Chinese Guqin Music Culture Database" and "China Xinjiang Uyghur Muqam Music Database", and taking the lead in undertaking the key project of the National Science and Technology Support Plan of the Ministry of Science and Technology in the 11th Five-Year Plan, such as "Key Technology and Demonstration Application of Music Digital Service".
The electronic music courseware produced by the Modern Distance Music Education College of the Central Conservatory of Music has distinctive musical artistic characteristics, which gives full play to the advantages of the teaching resources of the Central Conservatory of Music and famous teachers and courses in China. Through artistic and digital multimedia expression means and rich music extension resources, it highlights the multi-dimensional and personalized characteristics of online music teaching, with high click-through rate and important influence in China.
After more than ten years of development and innovation, Modern Distance Music Education Institute has made outstanding achievements in the all-round practice of online music education: it has established a complete online music education system, explored a unique online music education model, and pioneered online music education in China. In 2009, President Yuan was awarded the "Contribution Award for Online Education" by the Ministry of Education, and Modern Distance Music Education Institute was awarded the "Online Education Textbook Construction Award" by the Ministry of Education.
