Has the national standard for teaching quality of undergraduate majors been promulgated?
According to the website of the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Education recently issued the National Standard for Teaching Quality of Undergraduate Majors in Colleges and Universities, which is the first national standard for teaching quality in the field of higher education in China, covering all 92 undergraduate majors and 587 majors in the Catalogue of Undergraduate Majors in Colleges and Universities, involving more than 56,000 professional points in colleges and universities across the country.

According to reports, the national standard clarifies the connotation, subject basis and talent training direction of various professional categories. There are clear requirements for the scope of applicable majors, training objectives, training specifications, teaching staff, teaching conditions and quality assurance system construction, especially for the number and structure of teachers, professional background and level of teachers, and conditions for teachers' teaching development. At the same time, the requirements of basic school conditions, basic information resources and teaching funds investment of each major are clarified.

In the next step, the Ministry of Education will set up a teaching steering committee for colleges and universities in 20 18-2022 to publicize, interpret and popularize the standards. After the release of standards, all localities and relevant industry departments should study and formulate talent evaluation standards accordingly; Colleges and universities should revise the talent training plan and cultivate diversified high-quality talents. In addition, the Ministry of Education will closely combine the implementation of standards with the construction of "first-class undergraduate, first-class professional and first-class talents", monitor and certify the quality and level of running colleges and universities, and publish "transcripts" in due course.
