Guanghua Law School of Zhejiang University, formerly known as Zhejiang University Law School, was founded in 1945, and then its departments were adjusted in 1952. The former National Zhejiang University became a university of science and engineering, and Hangzhou University was established on the basis of the humanities and social sciences of the former Zhejiang University.

1980 The former Hangzhou University was transformed into the Law Department, and 1995 established the Law School on the basis of the Law Department. 1998, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou University, Zhejiang Medical University and Zhejiang Agricultural University merged to form a new Zhejiang University. 1999, the Law School of New Zhejiang University began to build and set up a variety of disciplines.
