Xiamen University (XMU) was founded in 192 1 by Chen Jiageng, a famous patriotic overseas Chinese leader. It is the first university founded by overseas Chinese in the history of modern education in China, and also a high-level university built by the national "2 1 1 Project" and "985 Project".
