What is the IELTS speaking test?
The IELTS speaking test is divided into three parts. The following three parts are introduced respectively, so that everyone can have a deeper understanding of the examination process and matters needing attention. part
0 1 Introduction (General Dialogue)
Content: To examine candidates' ability to discuss familiar topics and use basic English grammar.
Process: The examiner will ask some questions that candidates are familiar with, such as hometown, family, hobbies and familiar people around them.
The first part should get high marks, and every answer should be complete, neither too long nor too short. Sometimes a complete answer only includes a few sentences, and sometimes more sentences are needed to express clearly. In fact, it doesn't matter how much you say, what matters is whether the answer is complete.
Tips for high marks: Never just say "yes" or "no", and never pile up statements or give overly lengthy answers.
part
02 long-distance running (personal statement)
Content: To examine the ability of candidates to tell a complete story in English coherently.
Process: Examiners ask candidates to make a personal statement on a certain question 1 to 2 minutes. The examiner will prepare a topic reminder card for the candidate, which indicates what the candidate needs to express, and the candidate has 1 minute preparation time. In the process of preparation, the examiner will provide the candidates with pens and white paper, and the candidates can take some notes.
High Score Tip: Proper use of conjunctions can make your expression sound clearer and your answer more logical. Candidates are advised to slow down when taking Part 2, which will not only help you adjust your thinking quickly, but also allow you to make full use of the examination time. part
03 Two-way discussion (two-way discussion)
Content: To examine the ability of candidates to express their personal views and dialectically analyze and discuss controversial issues.
Process: Examiners and candidates have two-way discussions on a wide range of social issues.
In this part, candidates need to clearly express their views and give reasons, and at the same time show the examiner that you can use the skills of native English speakers to discuss problems and have an open dialectical discussion on some unfamiliar topics. When stating a certain point of view, candidates need to explain other different points of view at the same time, so as to think dialectically and answer dialectically.
High Score Tip: Proper use of conjunctions can make your expression sound clearer and your answer more logical.
