On how to guide children to learn how to feel after listening to educational lectures.
This afternoon, I attended the parent-teacher conference of Senior One and Senior Two in Changxing Primary School, and listened to a lecture on children's education given by family education experts in Yang Jinghui, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. I think I have benefited a lot. Children's education is very important. Parents are the children's first teachers and forever teachers. Children's education can't rely solely on schools, especially primary school students. Parents' words and deeds have a particularly important influence on their children's growth. Teacher Yang Jinghui tells our parents how to educate and guide their children, how to treat their test scores correctly, and how to cultivate their ability to adapt to society in the future through some vivid examples. Mr Yang Jinghui is from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Although there are certain cultural differences between Guangdong and Hong Kong, I agree with some of his educational ideas. Let me briefly talk about some of my feelings after listening.

About how parents treat their children's test scores correctly. Perhaps because of our traditional ideas or educational mechanism, parents are most concerned about their children's academic performance. After every exam, the first sentence we ask our children is often: "How many points did you get in the exam? Where are you in the class? " Parents will be happy if their children score high and rank high. If children's grades are not satisfactory and their rankings are low, they will be unhappy, even furious, scold their children, or complain and quarrel with each other. This "ambitious" mood may be shared by parents. Who doesn't want their children to study hard, cross the threshold of famous universities and make a difference in society in the future? Through the study of this lecture, I realized that too harsh requirements and the pursuit of scores may not be beneficial to children's development. As parents, we should have a correct understanding of children's academic performance. Examination in school is a means to check teachers' "teaching" and students' "learning". The score is only a reflection of the teaching effect and learning effect, which can reflect the children's learning situation to a certain extent, but it cannot be 100% accurate. It is too one-sided for parents to infer the quality of their children's academic performance completely according to their scores or rankings, because there are many reasons for the quality of a certain performance. Therefore, parents don't need to pay close attention to scores and rankings, but should treat their children's test scores correctly, let the tests really play their "leverage" role, help children find their own shortcomings through the tests, and propose improvement measures. At the same time, parents should also educate their children to look at their academic achievements correctly, and let them turn their attention to the exam results to analyze their own problems, so as to win without arrogance and lose with grace and acquire knowledge in a down-to-earth manner. The evaluation of children's academic performance should be considered in combination with their abilities and characteristics. High grades do not necessarily mean strong ability. Judging from the current education situation, "high scores and low abilities" is still a quite common phenomenon. Similarly, a low score is not necessarily a failure to become a talent. Edison was considered to study too slowly when he was a child, but later he became one of the most famous inventors in the world. Parents should pay attention to their children's academic achievements, but more importantly, they should pay attention to the development of their children's abilities. If parents pay too much attention to grades and rankings, it is easy for children to blindly pursue high scores, fall into the narrow world of topics and books, and pay attention to memorizing certain knowledge, thus ignoring the cultivation of observation, thinking and practical operation ability. Hong Kong TV has a public service advertisement with the slogan: "Learning is not for getting grades", which may be the reason. Some educational experts have taught parents that the basic attitude they should take towards their children's academic performance is to look at their academic performance in an all-round way and focus on summing up and analyzing after the exam. First of all, our parents should affirm their children's academic performance. After a period of study, children will always gain something, and they should be good at discovering the progress of children and affirming it. Secondly, no matter whether the test results are good or bad, we should start from the actual situation of the test content and answer sheet to help children analyze the successful experiences and lessons of failure. When a problem is found, parents should work out measures to solve the problem with their children and truly master the knowledge. In order to prevent children from making similar mistakes in the future, some parents prepare a "lost score book" for their children to record and correct the mistakes in each exam. This is a good method. Parents may wish to give it a try. Even if your children are all right, you should educate them to learn to sum up successful experiences instead of being complacent.

In short, we should cultivate children's interest in learning and educational attitude in the right way, and inspire children to build confidence with encouragement and understanding when encountering problems. Changxing primary school organized our parents to attend classes this time, which is very meaningful, but unfortunately the time is relatively short. I hope that similar activities can be organized in the future, so that parents and schools can maintain good communication and children can grow up healthily in school.
