Liu Jiaoshou graduated from Shanghai Jiaotong University. First I worked in the Education Department of the First Mechanical Engineering Department, and then I taught in 1955 Jilin Institute of Technology. In the 1970s, in the national universities, the major of metal heat treatment only focused on explaining the process, and why there was no systematic theoretical textbook to give a clear explanation. Teacher Liu himself is also diligent in going to the factory to actually understand and solve problems. When communicating with technical engineers and workers, he found that there is an urgent need for a textbook that clearly explains the manufacturing basis of heat treatment process in principle. He made up his mind to finish the work. He collected a large number of documents, combined with his years of theoretical and practical experience, worked hard day and night with a scientific and rigorous attitude, and gave a theoretical answer to metal heat treatment from the height of principle for the first time in the country, which became a unified teaching material for colleges and universities across the country. The book "Principles of Metal Heat Treatment" is still the most cited theoretical document in this field, and it is still a compulsory theoretical course in many key universities. The project "Research and Development of Low Carbon Martensite Steel Shovel and Production Line" presided by Mr. Liu won the Science and Technology Achievement Award of the National Science Conference. This achievement has been popularized and applied in more than ten provinces and cities. At that time, it created more than 20 million yuan of benefits for the country every year, which theoretically broke through the long-standing view that low carbon steel could not be quenched in the heat treatment industry. Another theoretical achievement, "Exerting the potential of steel materials from the martensitic morphology theory", won the scientific and technological achievement award of the National Mechanical Science Conference. These two achievements were widely praised by experts and scholars attending the meeting and were regarded as creative achievements.
1978 after returning to the hospital, the major of metal materials and heat treatment was changed to the major of material science and technical engineering for the first time. At that time, some people and other institutions did not understand why this major was defined in this way. After more than ten years, almost all colleges and universities in China have recognized and changed.
In the early 1960s, Mr. Liu began to study heat treatment energy-saving projects. Artists make bold innovations, and Mr. Liu often goes deep into enterprises to solve one technical problem after another, which has made important contributions to the economic development of our province. Often the problem is solved and nothing is answered.
In the past, in order to maintain and improve the performance of steel wire production, lead bath isothermal treatment was used in the middle. Lead is a toxic substance, which is extremely harmful to the health of workers, and some people even suffer from rickets and hair loss. Miss Liu's eyes hurt in her heart, and she devoted herself to research. It was during the Cultural Revolution that he boldly put forward the technical measures of replacing lead bath with salt bath on the charge of destroying "grasping revolution and promoting production". Someone asked what to do if something went wrong. Teacher Liu said decisively, "I am responsible!" In this way, the experiment finally succeeded. Based on the principle of heat treatment, Mr. Liu thinks it can be realized, and he has the courage to ask us to do it ourselves. Whether there are funds and necessary support conditions for repeated simulation experiments can only be directly produced and processed. Teacher Liu is also worried about the accident, so that workers can stay away from the scene and debug themselves. In fact, he formulated a reasonable quenching process by analyzing the composition and principle of steel. He is full of confidence in success, but he also faces risks and challenges.
