Shenzhen Dapeng Peninsula National Geopark Museum is located in the dome scenic spot of Shenzhen Dapeng Peninsula National Geopark, which is one of the core landscapes of the Geopark. The museum is built according to the requirements of the Ministry of Land and Resources for the construction of a national geological park, with a building area of 54 10 square meter. The museum building is simple and atmospheric, and it is composed of dynamic and tension inclined planes. On the whole, it is like several volcanic rocks scattered at the foot of Qiniang Mountain, which makes the building blend into the surrounding environment more naturally and become a highlight of the whole geological park.
The museum has six exhibition halls: orderly hall, earth exploration exhibition hall, Dapeng Peninsula exhibition hall, mineral exhibition hall, urban and geological environment exhibition hall and temporary exhibition hall. At the same time, it also has a 3D popular science cinema, a multifunctional lecture hall and an outdoor dinosaur exhibition hall. There are various forms of exhibits in the museum, and a large number of modern exhibition methods are used: 44 multimedia films such as The Formation of the Universe, The Formation of the Ocean, Chengjiang Fauna, The Dynamic Background of Volcanic Eruption and Geological Disasters in Coastal Cities are broadcasted in the exhibition hall; In particular, 3D movies reflecting the tsunami disaster and five phantom images introducing gems were carefully produced. At the same time, more than 0/0 landscape scenes such as submarine caves, volcanic eruptions, gem formation, coastal geological disasters and core collection have been restored, which truly reproduces the unique ancient volcanic landforms and coastal scenery of the geological park.
Shenzhen Dapeng Peninsula National Geopark Museum is a geoscience museum based in Shenzhen and facing the whole country, which fully demonstrates the regional geological characteristics of Dapeng Peninsula, Shenzhen and even Guangdong Province. It provides a good platform for Shenzhen audience and foreign tourists to understand Shenzhen's geological resources. It is the base of Shenzhen youth's scientific and cultural quality education and popularization of geoscience knowledge, and an excellent place for scientific research, popular science, viewing, leisure, entertainment and stone appreciation.
