IELTS scoring standard:
All the marking work of IELTS test is carried out by trained raters and examiners in the test center.
After special training, raters understand the IELTS scoring policy and effectively grade the listening and reading tests according to the scoring standards. Evaluate the raters every other year to ensure that the scores meet the standards. Each test center will carry out system monitoring, and a certain proportion of answer sheets will be double-marked.
The recruitment and training of IELTS writing and speaking examiners are conducted in accordance with established standards. In addition to continuously monitoring the performance of examiners, examiners will be evaluated every other year to ensure that they are graded according to the standards.
The grading of all IELTS tests is completed by professionally trained marking officers and examiners in the test center. The test scores are recorded on the report card, including a total score and four individual scores of listening, reading, writing and speaking. Candidates' test scores are evaluated by 1-9 scoring system, with four independent scores, and the final score is the average of the four scores. The total score is allowed to be half, and the individual score is allowed to be four.
The total score is the result of averaging the scores of the four parts and rounding them off. The total score will be reported with the nearest total score or half score. For the avoidance of doubt, the following rounding rules are adopted: if there are .25 digits after the decimal point of the average score, round it to the lower half; If the decimal place of the average grade is .75, round it to the next full mark.
The IELTS test report card will be distributed on 10 working day after the written test. The organizer of IELTS test does not guarantee the validity of transcripts for more than two years. (Usually valid for two years)
