The school "Ba Xue Yuan" described in the book "Little Peas by the Window" is real. It was founded by Mr. Sousaku Kobayashi on 1937, and has always been educating children.

Xiao Doudou is the author himself. She grew up in Ba Xueyuan. This book can be said to be the memoir of the author Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's childhood life. Unfortunately, Ba Xueyuan was later destroyed in the Tokyo bombing.
