People's Republic of China (PRC) Patriotism Education Law was adopted by the Sixth Session of the 14th NPC Standing Committee of People's Republic of China (PRC) on1October 24th, 2023. It is hereby promulgated and shall come into force on1October 24th, 2024. This Law is formulated in accordance with the Constitution in order to strengthen patriotism education in the new era, inherit and carry forward the spirit of patriotism, and unite the majestic power of building a socialist modern country in an all-round way and promoting the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation in an all-round way.
Duties and tasks
The central department in charge of patriotic education is responsible for the guidance, supervision and overall coordination of patriotic education throughout the country. The central and state organs and departments shall organize patriotic education within the scope of their respective duties.
The local department in charge of patriotic education is responsible for the guidance, supervision and overall coordination of patriotic education in the region. The education administrative departments of local people's governments at or above the county level shall strengthen the organization, coordination, guidance and supervision of patriotism education in schools. Relevant departments of local culture and tourism, press and publication, radio and television, movies, network information and cultural relics at or above the county level shall carry out patriotic education within their respective functions and duties.
The China People's Liberation Army and the Chinese People's Armed Police Force carry out patriotic education in accordance with this Law and the relevant provisions of the Central Military Commission, make full use of their own resources, and carry out patriotic education for the society.
Mass organizations such as trade unions, Communist Youth League, women's federation, Federation of Industry and Commerce, Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Writers Association, Association of Science and Technology, Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, Taiwan Province Compatriots' Association, Federation of Disabled Persons, Youth Federation, etc. should give full play to their respective advantages and carry out patriotic education for the areas and groups they are in contact with.
The state adopts various forms to carry out publicity and education on the rule of law, national security and national defense, enhance citizens' awareness of the rule of law, national security and national defense, and guide citizens to consciously fulfill their obligations of safeguarding national unity and national unity and safeguarding national security, honor and interests.
