Qinglongshan Revolutionary Martyrs Monument is located at the top of Qinglongshan Mountain in shenjiamen Street of our district, covering an area of more than 660 square meters, adjacent to Donggang District, facing the bustling fishing port of shenjiamen, surrounded by pine trees, and the environment is very beautiful. This monument was built to commemorate the revolutionary martyrs who died heroically in the Battle of Denbu Island, to celebrate their revolutionary achievements and to educate the broad masses of the people. 1949165438+1On the evening of October 3, 6 1 Division of the 20th Army of the China People's Liberation Army cooperated with the 22nd Army, and after crossing the sea from Zhoushan South Road to liberate Fodu, Liu Heng, Xiazhi and Taohua Island, it was ordered to launch a separate combat attack on Denbu Island. The Battle of Denbu Island was a fierce battle under the condition of absolute disparity between the enemy and ourselves. The officers and men of the People's Liberation Army carried forward a high degree of revolutionary heroism, fought bloody battles for two days and nights with less than two regiments without artillery cover and insufficient ammunition, repelled the continuous counterattacks of more than six enemy regiments under the cover of planes, warships and artillery fire, and caused heavy casualties to the enemy, killing and capturing more than 4,000 people. After destroying the enemy's effective forces, he voluntarily quit the battle on the night of 165438+ 10, and returned to Taohua Island safely. Many revolutionary martyrs gave their precious lives in the battle and made great contributions to the liberation of Zhoushan and Putuo.

The monument broke ground on 1 983 65438+February1,and was completed on1April 30, 984 after six months of careful design and construction. On May 17 of the same year, the inauguration ceremony was held on the 34th anniversary of Zhoushan's liberation. The whole monument consists of two parts, the pedestal and the monument body, with a total height of15m, all of which are reinforced concrete structures. The pedestal is 2.8m high, 1 1 m long and 6m wide. The base surface is covered with ivory marble and pink marble. In the center of the pedestal, Comrade Teng, the former commander of the 2 1 Group Army, personally wrote "The revolutionary martyrs who died heroically in the Battle of Denbu Island are immortal!" The marble on the back is engraved with 18 characters of golden slips, which is a monument to the revolutionary martyrs in the Battle of Denbu Island written by Putuo District People's Government to commemorate the martyrs. The names of 380 revolutionary martyrs who died heroically in the Battle of Denbu Island were inlaid on the east and west sides of the monument with 26 pieces of ivory marble according to their names, positions and places of origin. The main part of the monument decorated with pink marble is 12.2 meters high and made of white cement and white stone chips. Near the top, there is a shining red five-star The following are seven one-meter square Chinese characters inscribed by Teng on the Monument to the Revolutionary Martyrs. The main part of the white monument photographed by Jin is integrated with the pedestal of the monument, standing proudly against the backdrop of pine trees, adding a solemn atmosphere to the whole building. 1989 expanded the ancillary facilities of the monument, mainly building two leisure pavilions and squares on the northeast and southwest sides of the monument, with a total area of 1320 square meters.

On June 1994, the Qinglongshan Revolutionary Martyrs Monument was named as a municipal patriotic education base by the Propaganda Department of the Municipal Party Committee, and its management unit was Putuo District Civil Affairs Bureau. Every year before Tomb-Sweeping Day, the Civil Affairs Bureau will repair the historical sites, and the garden department will often green the surrounding environment and clean the historical sites and ancillary facilities to create a comfortable environment for tourists.

After the completion of the Qinglong Mountain Revolutionary Martyrs Monument, it was deeply admired and visited by the broad masses of the people.
