Lao Xu ignored a pile of awards and military medals, but deliberately asked his wife to bring her diploma from China Administrative University and the lecturer's card issued by the Provincial Personnel Department for reporters to shoot. I said, "old leader, do you think this is more important than the military medal?" He said, "No, this is also a military medal. This is the only military medal in my study. "
It can be seen that Lao Xu attaches great importance to reading and studying this "military medal".
In the eyes of outsiders, this "military medal" came a little late, and it was a late love. 1985 when Lao Xu was appointed as the vice principal in charge of the regional administrative cadre school, he said that he didn't know administrative management, so how can he be a good principal here? Although the school has just resumed, but things were busy at that time, he made up his mind to study at China Administrative Correspondence University for two years in the second year. At the age of 55, he passed the exam with excellent results and got the diploma. Later, he was invited to participate in the compilation of the book "Introduction to Administration and Examination Questions" published by Xinhua Press199/KLOC-0 in August, and was responsible for the compilation of the chapter "Administrative Management System Reform". 1992, he was 57 years old when the provincial personnel department confirmed that he was awarded the title of lecturer. He not only lectured in our school, but also went to the county party school, and was also hired as a part-time teaching teacher of administration by Mindong Normal University.
The reason why he values this military medal so much is that it is hard-won, but the deeper reason is probably rooted in his pain and disappointment of "no books to read" as a child, rooted in his thirst for scientific and cultural knowledge and his cherish of learning opportunities. What can I say? Let's listen to the story told by his wife, Sister Liu Chai, about Lao Xu's childhood study.
Liu Chai said that Lao Xu's family lives in a poor mountain village in Shouning County, and his father is a farmer. During the slack season, he picked a vendor to do some small business. My parents gave birth to five brothers and sisters, two of whom died young due to poverty and illness, leaving three brothers. Inakui is the boss. When he was a child, he herded cattle and cut wood, followed adults to the fields and did everything. Although the family got up early and worked hard, they still owed the landlord more than 40 tons of rice rent. Although life is very difficult, parents still scrimp and save, making Daokui barely finish primary school. In July of that year, Inakui graduated from high school and wanted to take the junior high school entrance examination. His father went to Zhejiang with a peddler's burden on his back, intending to sell those needles, threads and brains, and then exchange some goods from there and sell them back to Shouning to earn some money for his son's exam. More than 70 years ago, there were high mountains and dense forests on the border between Fujian and Zhejiang, and robbery activities were rampant. Not only did his father not make money, but even the goods and baggage were taken away by robbers. Daokui went to the county seat for the first time, but his father didn't come back and there was no money at home. Fortunately, he borrowed 70 cents from his classmates' parents (online verification showed that there was a dime of Yuan Shikai's head silver coin, which was cast in 19 14), and he stayed in the county town and barely paid the money, so he had no money to eat. At this time, the rice sunflower sitting on the side choked and interjected: "I can only afford a bowl of white rice and ask the restaurant for a pepper with some soy sauce." The next afternoon, after the early exam, I hurried home and met my father who came to see me on the way. I'm glad to ask him how his business is. My father shook his head, sighed and told me that everything was taken away by robbers. As soon as I heard it, I knew there was no book to read. I immediately cried with my father in my arms, and the father and son cried their heads off in this desolate place. "Now talking about this bitter and sad past, the 85-year-old Daokui is still crying, and I am moved by it.
Liu Chai told me that it was because he was too poor to go to school. Otherwise, Daokui would have been a good scholar, because he loved reading too much and learning too much. He was envious and hoped that he would become a literate and knowledgeable person. After liberation, Inakui joined the army on 1950 and became the People's Liberation Army of China. During the cultural March in 1953, because many recruits were illiterate at that time, they didn't study for a day. He was not only a cultural assistant for these people, but also a junior high school student in the cultural school of regional organs. Later, he was transferred to Fujian Armed Police Corps, and immediately enrolled in the amateur university of provincial government employees. Inakui cherishes every opportunity to learn and train. Without such an opportunity, he also attached great importance to self-study, formed the habit of reading, and persisted all the year round. For a long time, Liu Chai saw that Lao Xu had a dictionary or dictionary with him, whether reading newspapers or books. When he comes across new words and words he doesn't understand, he will look them up in the dictionary until he understands them. He often said, "In the old society, the poor wanted to study and didn't have any books to read. Now run a good evening school, let's study. Thank you * * *, you must study hard and grow your talents. Only with knowledge and ability can we do a good job and serve the people better. "
Rice sunflower has a wide range of learning interests. He wants to learn everything as long as it helps his work. Poetry and shorthand help to improve his writing ability and take minutes of meetings. He studies the most seriously. He speaks Russian and English because he doesn't need it. "Now it's all returned to the teacher." Inakui learned solfeggio, accordion playing, erhu playing and ball playing. He learned these skills from talented people in the army because he felt that learning these skills would be of great benefit to the company's cultural and sports activities. Thanks to long-term hard work and serious study, Comrade Daokui's level of cultural theory has been greatly improved, which has enabled this former cowherd to be qualified as a publicity and culture officer, publicity department chief and various leadership positions, and strive to make contributions in his post.
Of course, what impressed and moved me most was that he was in his fifties in the leadership position, worked as a hard-working student for two years, and got the diploma from China Administrative Correspondence University. What kind of motivation and persistence do you need? ! From cowherd to director, section chief and secretary, from a primary school student to a lecturer and president of a university, I stand on the platform of a university to teach. From the detailed account given to me by Liu Chai's sister, and from the footprints left by Comrade Dao Kui step by step, I clearly see that "for work" is his unremitting motivation and persistence in studying hard and studying hard to improve his ability to serve the people for decades. Lao Xu's emphasis on reading and learning, a "military medal", is essentially his emphasis and desire for knowledge. Over half a year old, I learn culture with glasses, not for promotion and wealth, but for my ability to work. Comrade inakui, you are really good!
