Why do our teachers hate their students? ? Social concept is also one of the important reasons for the prevalence of corporal punishment. Corporal punishment is common in rural areas of China, especially in China. On the one hand, it reflects the low quality of teachers, on the other hand, it is also the inertia embodiment of China's traditional educational thought of "strict teachers make excellent students". In addition, the phenomenon that the baton of entrance examination hangs high above the teacher's head also leads to the endless corporal punishment of students by teachers. Many rural parents think that it is understandable for teachers to hit people, just don't hit them too hard. Some students even take it for granted that teachers beat students, thinking that "isn't it for your own good that teachers beat you?"
In recent years, academic circles, media and online public opinion have divided their positions on corporal punishment into two camps; On the one hand, we believe that the prohibition of corporal punishment reflects the progress of human civilization, and we should not go back; On the other hand, it is considered that corporal punishment is prohibited across the board, which increases the difficulty of teachers' education management and does not meet the actual needs of education and teaching. Although the discussion on corporal punishment and the right to education and punishment is protracted, how to define and divide education and punishment, corporal punishment and corporal punishment in disguised form is still a black box. In most cases, many people who participate in the discussion are actually talking about each other, and no one can come up with convincing basis and measures.
The real strict teacher is not a "penalty" teacher. A good teacher who really loves education and students will not physically punish students, but will take more effective ways to help them. Psychologists have proved through experiments that affirmation of students is much more useful than "necessary punishment". Negative or negative reinforcement of students' mistakes is easier for students to accept and understand than direct punishment. Besides, teachers can't always think that only students are wrong, but they are absolutely right. Many mistakes do not just happen unilaterally. Those who support corporal punishment will say; If we look back, the whole history of education in China has always been accompanied by corporal punishment. If we look outside, more developed countries have corporal punishment system more or less. And those who oppose corporal punishment will say; Who will judge the right and wrong of students' words and deeds? How to judge? Who will judge the seriousness of this mistake? How to judge? Who will judge the nature of punishment and criticism education? How to judge? Who will judge the extension of corporal punishment and insult? ..... and so on. It can be seen that whether corporal punishment is allowed is related to a country's cultural tradition and the collection of existing laws. Among them, the law is the core and the most important basis.
Regrettably, the provisions of China's education-related laws and regulations on "corporal punishment" or "corporal punishment in disguised form" are too general and vague. The provisions on "corporal punishment" in China are scattered in the Compulsory Education Law, the Law on the Protection of Minors, the Law on Teachers and these three laws, but these laws only make rough provisions. Education is a long-term systematic project, not an overnight behavior. Some students will sleep late, some students will be late, some students will cheat in exams, and some students will smoke ... Then, those who should be patiently educated should be patiently educated, and those who should be disciplined should be disciplined.
