Abstract: In recent years, with the deepening and development of quality education reform in China, college physical education, as an important part of modern education, is also facing new challenges. In the traditional college physical education teaching, there are still some problems that restrict the development of college physical education. Therefore, we must deeply explore the reform of physical education in colleges and universities, so that physical education in colleges and universities can develop well.

For physical education class, students can have a chance to relax after intense study, and at the same time, they can exercise and improve their physical fitness. However, the current physical education in colleges and universities has long been bound by the traditional concept of physical education. In order to play a better role and promote the all-round development of students, college physical education must continue to deepen reform.
First, the analysis of problems in college physical education teaching
Although the reform of college physical education has gradually attracted people's attention, as far as college physical education is concerned, the attention paid to its investment is far from enough, and there are still some problems in the concept and educational methods of college physical education, which need to be improved urgently. Secondly, in physical education teaching in colleges and universities, the understanding of the purpose of physical education teaching is not high, and the results of physical education teaching are often paid attention to simply and unilaterally, while the combination of physical education teaching and students' physical and mental development is ignored, thus failing to achieve the effect of quality education in physical education teaching. In addition, in college physical education teaching, the teaching mode is relatively simple. In teaching, teachers often ignore students' dominant position, and can't start from students' point of view. The boring theoretical knowledge in textbooks can't stimulate students' interest, which makes students lack learning enthusiasm and can't achieve the ultimate goal of physical education teaching. In addition, students themselves are afraid of being tired, lack certain interest in physical education teaching, and lack awareness of physical exercise, thus losing the enthusiasm of physical education teaching. In addition, the pertinence of physical education in colleges and universities is not strong, which makes students unable to establish the concept of lifelong physical education well and makes quality physical education not develop well. Therefore, in order to solve these problems in college physical education teaching, we must constantly strengthen the reform of college physical education teaching.
Second, measures to promote physical education reform in colleges and universities
1. Innovate the concept of physical education and attach importance to physical education.
In college physical education teaching, in order to promote the realization of college physical education teaching reform, we must innovate the concept of physical education teaching and strengthen the attention to physical education teaching. For college students, with the growth of age and the deepening of experience, they will have their own understanding and views on things, and they are very creative. Therefore, in college physical education teaching, teachers should establish students' dominant position, give full play to students' initiative in physical education teaching, and let students actively participate in physical education teaching. At the same time, teachers should abandon the traditional concept of educational leaders, be guides in physical education teaching, and guide students to establish the concept of lifelong physical education.
2. Innovative teaching methods
In college physical education teaching, the smooth development of teaching activities is inseparable from good teaching methods. Therefore, to reform college physical education, we must constantly innovate teaching methods and teaching models, promote the diversification of teaching models, make college students have a strong interest in physical education, and further promote the all-round development of students' physical education. In the teaching process, we should attract students to physical education class with novel teaching methods, and consider the learning characteristics of college students when innovating teaching methods, so as to better innovate teaching methods. For example, in physical education class, different teaching modes and teaching contents can be set according to different majors. Teachers can also combine practical sports skills with popular leisure and entertainment projects, such as adding taekwondo, yoga, ballroom dancing and other projects that students are interested in, so that students' physical quality can be fully and well developed, and finally lay a good foundation for lifelong physical exercise.
3. The renewal and reform of college physical education textbooks
For higher education, the goal of cultivating students is to cultivate talents more suitable for social progress and development. Therefore, in college physical education, its primary task is to strengthen the cultivation of students' physical quality, guide students to establish the idea of lifelong physical education, improve students' physical quality, and thus better meet the needs of society for healthy talents. Therefore, in college physical education teaching, we should constantly update and reform physical education textbooks. Physical education textbooks in colleges and universities should combine the psychological and physical characteristics of college students, pay attention to the combination of sports culture and sports competitive ability in curriculum setting, and comprehensively develop students' physical quality.
4. Improve teachers' educational theory literacy.
For physical education teachers, it is their responsibility to teach physical education and skills. Therefore, PE teachers are required to have various theoretical attainments and practical abilities, so as to better improve their teaching level and enhance their teaching ability in teaching practice. In teaching, teachers should constantly improve their theoretical literacy and strengthen their perception of educational theoretical knowledge. In teaching, we should better combine the reality with educational theory. Physical education teachers should constantly improve teaching methods, improve teaching level, and then improve students' interest in physical exercise and cultivate students' habits of physical exercise. In teaching, physical education teachers should design teaching contents that are in line with students' growth and development.
