Marxist Institute is mainly engaged in:

Basic principles of Marxism, development history of Marxism, foreign Marxism studies, China Marxism studies, ideological and political education, research on basic issues of modern China history, scientific socialism and international communist movement, Marxist philosophy, and political economy.

Scientific research achievements of Marxist institute

The college has presided over a number of major national social science fund projects and nearly 20 scientific research projects at or above the provincial and ministerial levels. The College actively participated in the Central Committee's "Marxist Theory Research and Construction Project" and presided over the compilation of two key textbooks for the project. The college has made a number of influential achievements in Marxist theoretical research and ideological and political education.

Tsinghua University Moral Education Research Center, the key research base of humanities and social sciences of the Ministry of Education, is a training base for teachers of ideological and political theory courses in Beijing universities, relying on the construction and development of the college.

The College has been successively rated as the key construction demonstration unit of Marxist theory and ideological and moral courses in Beijing universities, the "advanced collective of moral education in Beijing universities" and the "excellent teaching team in Beijing". In 2007, "Tsinghua University Ideological and Political Theory Teaching Team" was named as the first batch of "national teaching teams" and became the first national teaching team of ideological and political theory courses in China.
