Expanding knowledge: At present, there is an impulse of self-explanation in the theoretical research of higher education. This "subconscious" impulse of self-explanation shows the legitimacy of the existence of higher education and the long-term neglect of theoretical meta-discourse issues such as the discipline orientation and existence form of higher education. These problems are placed in the blind spot of the research field under the current discourse background, and even regarded as self-evident to some extent. Behind the diversification of research methods and perspectives and the noise of various "higher education" theories, it is regrettable to see that the theoretical research of higher education has no clear self-orientation, no clear sense of problems, no internal vitality and vitality, and no theoretical space for further development. The spiritual and ideological resources with real practical value and significance are indeed limited.
