The United States has always been a country where elites lead the middle class and the lower class, accounting for 1%-3% of society. Regardless of various crises and social changes, the proportion of elites remains basically unchanged. Everyone is concerned that the president's political achievements will always be whether the middle class shrinks, because the middle class accounts for 70%-80% of the total population.
The happy education we see in America is actually designed for American public schools and middle and lower class children. In fact, the class time in public schools is very short, starting at 8: 45 every day and ending at 3: 00 pm, which is shorter than that in kindergartens in China now. Excluding spring break, summer vacation and winter vacation, the school year is about 180 days. For the middle class, the remaining 180 days is completely where parents fight for financial resources. Those with good family circumstances will often send their children to various cram schools and interest classes, while those with better economic conditions will send their children to quality summer camps or travel abroad for holidays. Families whose income is lower than the social average can only raise their children in a free-range way, which seems to be happy, but in essence it is mediocre all their lives.
Of course, education is the most profitable industry in both the United States and China, and it will continue. But whether education can change fate may be different answers for people of different classes.
