Types and development of specialized education
China's higher education can be divided into three levels: junior college education, undergraduate education and postgraduate education, while junior college education can be divided into two different types: higher vocational education and subject education. This paper will discuss the types and development of specialized education in depth to help readers better understand this field.

Types of higher education

University education is mostly subject education, which is a "compressed version" of undergraduate education. Although theoretical study is emphasized, due to the limitation of academic system, students will encounter an embarrassing scene when they graduate: theoretically, they are not as good as undergraduate degree and their application ability is not as good as that of secondary school. Colleges are divided into ordinary colleges and higher vocational colleges. Ordinary colleges and universities are admitted in the fourth batch, and higher vocational colleges are admitted in the fifth batch.

The development of university education

College gradually develops to higher vocational education and will be integrated in the future. For example, the majors of some well-known universities, such as China Youth University for Political Science, Shanghai Jiaotong University and East China University of Science and Technology, have all been included in the higher vocational plan this year. Since last year, junior college students in our province have been placed under the provincial management, and the management right of higher vocational education has also been delegated to the provincial government. Graduates who started in 2003 will no longer be issued with national unified diplomas and dispatch certificates.

The way for junior college education to enter higher education

Higher vocational colleges can upgrade to undergraduate courses through self-examination, unified examination, and on-campus promotion.
