Jiang Menglin (1886- 1964), formerly known as Meng Xiong, was born in Yuyao, Zhejiang, and was a famous educator in modern China. He took part in the imperial examination and was a scholar. 19 12 graduated from the university of California, Berkeley, with a bachelor's degree in education, and then went to the graduate school of Columbia University in new york to study under Dewey, with a doctorate in philosophy and education.
Jiang Menglin was the first Minister of Education of the National Government, the Secretary-General of the Executive Yuan, and the longest-serving president in the history of Peking University. /kloc-0 went to Taiwan Province province in 1949, and/kloc-0 died in 1964.
Jiang Menglin devoted his life to education. During his tenure as president of Peking University, he devoted himself to "rectifying discipline and developing group governance to make up for the shortcomings of our school". On the educational proposition, Jiang Menglin thinks that the long-term plan of education lies in "taking the quintessence of China and harmonizing the modern spirit of the world: setting standards and setting problems", and the goal is to cultivate "scientific spirit" and "social consciousness". His major works include Autobiographical Works, West Tide, New Tide, Talking about Learning, and Research on China's Educational Principles.
