What do college counselors do? Brief introduction of college counselors
1. College counselors are teachers in colleges and universities. 1952, the state proposed to set up political counselors in colleges and universities; 1953, Tsinghua and Peking University made a pilot request to the then Ministry of Education (especially President Jiang Nanxiang of Tsinghua); Since then, many colleges and universities have established a counselor system, which mainly does political work and is the "political leader" of students.

2. University counselors and university teachers, although freshmen can be called teachers in a unified way. But the recruitment conditions of the two are different. At present, in most colleges and universities, if you want to become a formal university teacher, you generally need a doctorate or above to be introduced. A doctor's degree from a top university like Peking University and Tsinghua is not enough to be a university teacher in these prestigious universities. When some top universities recruit university teachers, they often require the study experience of world-class universities. In contrast, the recruitment requirements of college counselors are often lower. Usually, you only need to have a master's degree or above to qualify for college counselors.
