Macao is divided into missionary schools, international schools and patriotic schools. Among them, patriotic schools, geography, biology, chemistry, mathematics and history use People's Education Press. Since 20021,the Education and Youth Bureau has gone to the mainland to entrust People's Education Publishing House to help compile a set of history textbooks specifically for Macao, and a series of "Macao history textbooks" has appeared (divided into junior high school and senior high school). Including the history of China and the history of the world (including optional textbooks for senior high schools). This set of textbooks is based on the mainland history curriculum, and its content is consistent with the current history textbooks compiled by the Ministry of Education in the Mainland, but a column of "Ancient and Modern Macau" has been added. Today, PEP has also translated English and Portuguese versions of Macao history textbooks for Macao students.
