Japanese Department of Nanjing University, formerly known as Japanese Department of Foreign Languages Department of Nanjing University, was founded in 1975. 1977 After the national college entrance examination system was restored, undergraduate students were officially enrolled, which was the earliest educational base for cultivating Japanese professionals in colleges and universities in Jiangsu Province. 1994 was approved by the State Council as a major with the right to confer master's degrees, and it is also one of the first Japanese majors with the right to confer master's degrees in Jiangsu province. In 2002, it was renamed on the occasion of the 0/00th anniversary of Nanjing University.
