Reflections on whether to study abroad or not
Song Peihua, the first kindergarten in Nanjing, was inspired by the pyramid education in North America and recommended by the kindergarten. This book is exquisite, compact and illustrated, which caught my eye at a glance and made me interested in finding out. This book focuses on the Canadian basic education experienced by the author's own children, and combines the records of three other American bloggers to study, analyze and think about the educational phenomenon in North China, so as to present different North American education for readers and provide reference for the future planning of children in. After reading it, I benefited a lot, and gained a new understanding and understanding of the current education situation in China. In this contrast, combined with the education in North America, there are some essences that we can learn, some situations that we can't change, and some educational methods that are really suitable for children's development are worth pondering.

As we all know, the origin of Chinese and western political systems and cultures makes the educational methods in different countries very different. In education, developed countries pay more attention to cultivating children's autonomous learning ability and stimulating children's interest in understanding the world and exploring. And China is telling you, this is the only answer, the correct answer, you recite it. You should know that knowledge, skills and technology are constantly changing. Today's knowledge will become tomorrow's knowledge. Just got the fish and didn't get the fish. When foreign children make new discoveries as adults, domestic peers can only operate and memorize this knowledge, and so on. I thought what I memorized became my own knowledge and experience. In fact, I can't integrate this knowledge and apply it to real life. The biggest problem lies in the mechanism of the exam, and you have to memorize it before you can take the exam. A strong memory does not mean a strong ability. Some people in rainy days will never forget it, but it is difficult for them to take care of themselves. Simply remember the answer, but forget that the world is complete, everything is related, a point can be extended to one side, can shake more things.

Domestic education once despised divergent thinking, and some so-called "experts" despised divergent thinking to a very low degree. In fact, divergent thinking is the most precious and the basis of imagination and curiosity. But they are completely dismissive. So these "experts" in China are the most important. Wearing the laurel of "expert", making money is real.

Education in one country is to train people for this country, and different countries have different education. The education of African tribes is to catch wild animals without being killed; Although democracy in democratic countries is relative, within a certain range, the people are strong and the superstructure understands that only a solid foundation stone can last forever; China, on the other hand, only knows how to obey the people, but you don't want to think about how dangerous it is when the whole country has no creative ability and the core technology is only in the hands of others.

Education is not isolated, what kind of flowers bloom on what kind of soil. We are all involved in murdering children's imagination. When grandparents, parents, media, teachers, children, and the whole society say it is impossible, he naturally feels impossible. If you can, you are different, and the idea of hitting a bird in the head is terrible. How terrible it is to blindly follow the crowd, but everyone has a sense of security.

After I got the book, I began to read it carefully from the first page of the book, and I was inexplicably sad. Throughout the education of children in North America, the curriculum activities they have been exposed to since childhood are exactly what we are eager for but can't achieve! List a few details:

1. Sports meeting without individual sports: it is not an individual competition, highlighting individual characteristics and not selecting excellent specialties, but a collective participation. The students in the highest grade are responsible for organizing and planning the sports meeting and helping to guide the activities of the children in the lower grade! Referee, pick up the ball, etc. Senior students are in charge! A very simple activity: show two teams a picture, and then start the competition. The children run with pens for a while, then jump rope for a few times, then run over, draw a stroke and come back. It's the second turn to continue. Let's draw a stroke and finish a picture together! There is also a group from the lower grades to the higher grades, which should be completed with cooperation! The criterion for judging is not which team is faster, but comprehensive evaluation. The cheering sound of the team, the degree of cooperation of the children and the degree of cooperation are all assessment criteria. It's not the first one to be finished.

2. Volunteers: Parents volunteers, unforgettable Canadian summer camp volunteers. The concept of volunteers is really too popular. All parents are willing and actively involved in volunteer work, and they have been involved since childhood. Moreover, volunteer time and the content of social practice will become important assessment indicators for future enrollment, not just the results of examination papers!

3. Reading: The whole society mobilizes, provides venues and places free of charge, teaches parents how to read to their children, and has special volunteer teachers to tell stories to their children in places where children read collectively. Story lecture hall, hearty!

4. Colorful interest classes: It is said that there are many interest classes in China. In fact, there are more interest classes abroad, and there are more than enough to watch. So many parents are busy running around between interest classes, but the children are really happy! Domestic interest classes are narrow-minded, with many single events, many professional specialties, ranking first in the exam and strong purpose, which is one of the favorable conditions for further study! Many foreign interest classes are sports and group events. Children are allowed to participate in interest classes such as football team, basketball team and swimming, as well as scientific practice and natural practice. Pay more attention to tapping children's interests. According to your own interests, you can continue to choose the way of in-depth study, paying more attention to cooperation, teamwork and dealing with people!

There are too many educational ideas in the book that conform to the law of children's growth. Too many shortcomings in our education make me look at the problem from different angles. I should carefully look for the characteristics of North America from the book and consider how to create opportunities for change!

1. The concept of Boy Scouts: It means more than camping, hiking and other field survival tests. In fact, children of every age group will organize activities suitable for this age group according to their characteristics. Children may be in the park or on the playground of the kindergarten. Older children can go out for field training! But the idea is: fun, fun, independence, cooperation!

2. Leadership: In our opinion, this concept is how to lead everyone to do one thing together! What I read in this book is true. Leaders must first learn to listen, compromise and obey, listen to other people's views, and learn to compromise and obey to be a qualified member! After careful taste, the essence of leadership should be to learn to be a qualified team member first, and it is possible to further lead everyone by being a good team member! What I see in reality is that at the age of 4, all the children need partners and are crying for someone to play with. But once they come together, disputes continue and no one will compromise. They have to obey their own ideas, and no one will listen to them. Once there are not enough toy parts, everyone will think, no one will think of other ways to finish it for others!

3, hands-on operation, whimsy: unlimited creativity and hands-on opportunities can be seen everywhere. In class, in clubs and in various activities, you can use all kinds of materials to make your own works! What are we doing? Even the operation classes are well-made templates. Cut it out and paste it in a proper way. Everyone's work is the same. Is this kind of activity necessary? The answer is definitely yes, but if all or most of them are such activities, wouldn't it be too disappointing to the rich imagination and creativity of children of this age!

Anne also mentioned in her book that "elite education" also exists abroad, which is absolutely cruel, tired and busy, with heavy learning tasks and hard work for children, no different from that at home. At the same time, there are also various social activities, volunteers and practice participation outside of school, which is also the focus of future assessment, and it is by no means a simple result first! Elite is also based on children's interests, not across the board. According to children's interests, you can choose various schools in all directions to study. There are also good and bad schools abroad. Good schools are also crowded by parents, and the school district is expensive. In order to go to a good school, the children work hard and have a lot to learn. The pressure of studying abroad is not on children, but on parents. The teacher will not announce the results to the children, and try to keep the children interested in learning, but will communicate with parents one-on-one. The report card will be shown to parents, telling them what is good and what needs hard work, and detailed enough to list practical operation methods for parents. The pressure is on parents and children. Have fun at school!

In the last few chapters, Anne expounded the advantages and disadvantages of foreign education and the shortcomings of domestic education.

Advantages of education in North America:

1, humanized, in line with the law of children's growth, do what should be done at this age;

2. Socialization, collectivization, cooperation and mutual assistance, listening to compromise, and teaching children to be happy people in ordinary roles;

3. The understanding of the word "knowledge" is more scientific and covers a wider range: the textbook is only 65,438+00% of the content, and more is the exploration of the broad world and interest in knowledge;

4, a variety of hands-on experience operations, whimsy;

Protecting children's interests is the primary task. The so-called study pressure and achievement pressure are transferred to parents.

Disadvantages of education in North America:

1, excessive academic freedom, so that older children, children who do not pursue elite education, have no pressure and motivation;

2. The scope is wide but the foundation is not solid.

What we can do is to combine Chinese and Western cultures and provide children with more opportunities and experiences that are missing under the existing education system in a limited space and ideological environment!

1, can provide a variety of group games, make children's gameplay more diverse and novel, provide a variety of hands-on operations and hands-on experience projects, and the materials can be varied!

2. Requirements for knowledge and exam-oriented education should be put forward, but it is not a high-pressure requirement, not a rigid requirement, and it is not a score dispute. The idea that needs to be instilled in children is that these must be learned. Only by mastering the foundation can you better explore the deep-seated areas of your hobbies, where there will be more interesting and curious experiences waiting for you!

3. Keep children's interest, focus on observing children, and provide a lot of resources to back them up when they are interested in a certain aspect!

4. For exam-oriented education that overemphasizes scores, we should try to downplay the mental persecution of children-this needs to be digested, studied and thought slowly!

Finally, on the back cover of the book, you can see a small pyramid-like picture. In the five parts of Anne Going Abroad, the enlightenment of North American education from Kentucky to the spire is listed again:

1. Civic education cultivates qualified good citizens, and character education is the foundation and forms the mainstream value system;

2, reading at the age of 0, to create a lifelong learner, reading ability is an essential ability for successful people;

3. Cultivate interest, personality and creativity in playing, and find your own life orientation;

4. Mainstream values+academic performance+stylistic expertise+volunteer experience;

5. 15% elite.

Through Anne's detailed introduction to the enlightenment of pyramid education in North America, I have learned a lot about western educational methods. This is a good book worth reading and thinking about. I hope I can give you encouragement and study. I also hope that China's educational methods can take the essence and discard the dross, and become more and more perfect. I also hope to be more innovative and open on the road of preschool education, help children lay a good foundation, and strive for more people to join 10 in the future.
