Creation background

This article was written by Su Shi for the "Sanhuaitang" in Wang Gong's home when he took office in Huzhou in the second year of Song Shenzong Yuanfeng (1079). During Su Shi's stay in Xuzhou, Wang Gong accompanied him on an outing to recite poems. When Su Shi came to Huzhou to take office, Wang Gong also greeted him and asked him to write an inscription for Sanhuaitang, so he asked Su Shi to write an inscription for Sanhuaitang.
