Chen Bensheng (1900- 198 1), a native of Guixian (now Guigang), graduated from Fudan University 1920. He has served as a lecturer, professor and academic director of Guangdong University, Sun Yat-sen University, Guangxi University and Hong Kong Dade College for a long time.

Chandy worked in Guilin for the second time. From 1935 to 1937, he was the provost of Guangxi Normal University and Guangxi University. After serving as the educational director of Teachers College, Chen hired a number of progressive professors, including Chen Wangdao, Shen Xiling, Deng Chumin, Xiong Deshan and Hu Yimo. Also support teachers and students to start the school magazine "Crescent Moon". 1in the autumn of 936, in order to reduce the progressive forces of Guangxi Normal University, Guangxi authorities dismissed Xia Zhengnong, Yang Chao, Ma Zhemin and other progressive professors, merged Guangxi Normal University into Guangxi University, and Chen Jinsheng was appointed as the provost of Guangxi University. In less than two months, because Shi Fuliang criticized Guangxi politics to students, and because these left-wing professors were all hired by Chen Jinsheng, Li Zongren was greatly dissatisfied with Chen Jinsheng. Chen resigned before his death and went to Guangzhou with Shi Fuliang.
